SHANGHAI — BYD's sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao launches its first sedan lineup today, entering the passenger-car market for the first time. The Formula S sedan and Formula S GT shooting brake opened pre-orders on August 20 at 230,000–280,000 yuan ($33,940–$41,300) — below the widely expected range — with final prices unveiled on stage.
Supercar-grade DiSus-M suspension
The series debuts BYD's DiSus-M magnetorheological suspension, damping tech once reserved for Ferrari and Lamborghini supercars. Buyers choose 245 kW or 300 kW rear-drive motors, or a 490 kW (666 hp) all-wheel-drive flagship. The 76.7/92.1 kWh second-gen Blade Battery packs span 730–900 km CLTC range, with flash charging and God's Eye B assist.
Rapid sub-brand momentum
Momentum is strong: Fang Cheng Bao delivered 41,568 vehicles in August, up 155.6% year-on-year, and has surpassed 500,000 cumulative sales in under three years. Sibling brand Denza joined the offensive on September 14 with the N8L BEV from 299,800 yuan — the first model carrying BYD's onboard AI super-agent "DiDi Xia."
