BYD's flagship Da Han EV sedan rolled into 32 Chinese cities this week, just two weeks after pre-orders opened at RMB 249,900–299,900 ($37,200–$44,600) at the Chengdu Auto Show. Show cars are now taking test drives, with dealer reports pushing pre-sale orders toward 100,000 units. The 1,008-km CLTC variant and the 570 kW AWD flagship both pack a 102.3 kWh second-gen Blade Battery with 5-minute megawatt flash charging.

The Da Han EV marks BYD's clearest statement yet that it can compete with the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class — at half the price. With a 1,008-km CLTC range and 570 kW AWD performance on offer, the D-segment flagship is positioning itself as a direct challenger in China's premium sedan segment, backed by second-gen Blade Battery technology and megawatt flash charging.

UK's Biggest-Ever BYD Sales Event Opens September 10–21

On the same day, BYD opened its biggest-ever UK sales event (Sept 10–21), with up to £2,500 off across the full range, the new Dolphin G DM-i from £250/month and the Seal U DM-i from £349/month at 0% APR. UK registrations through August are up 98% year-over-year, lifting BYD's UK market share to 3.48%, with more than 110,000 units sold since 2023.

Flash-Charging Demand Sold Out as Blade Battery Production Ramps

Back home, BYD told investors that flash-charging orders are currently sold out and that second-gen Blade Battery production lines are ramping up to meet demand — a sign of strong appetite for the new megawatt flash-charging ecosystem.
