BYD has filed a voluntary recall in China covering more than 180,000 vehicles, the market regulator announced on September 20. The campaigns cover the Tang SUV and Qin sedan: 58,000 Tang models built from March 2015 to December 2018, 77,800 first-generation Tang DM units from May 2018 to January 2022, 7,023 Tang EVs, and 40,300 Qin sedans made from June 2014 to June 2019.

Brake pedal stopper fault

The fault lies in batch-defective brake pedal stopper pads that may crack and dislodge over time, leaving brake lights permanently lit. Dealers will replace them free of charge. The recall follows Beijing's year-long vehicle quality crackdown launched in late August.

ADAS fleet milestone

BYD also told investors its God's Eye ADAS fleet has surpassed 3.72 million cars, generating over 230 million kilometers of data daily.

Pakistan local assembly

In Pakistan, BYD confirmed at the Lahore auto show that the Sealion 6 will become its first locally assembled model there, targeting Q4 2026 production through partner Mega Motor Company's $150 million plant.
